Ross have had excited experiences while in Fine Art field. Painting had brought her to meet galleries owner, and The Beverly Hilton Hotel manager in Beverly Hills, California 90210, USA.

Her first visit to Beverly Hills happened when she’s a fashion designer. Her curiosity had brought her to visit the famous Rodeo Drive.
–
“I met those wonderful people not just ‘to test my nerve’, or just ‘to test how a villager goes to city ‘, or ‘just to have a try’ , or just ‘nothing to loose’ or just for fun. I am dreaming to bring the Indonesian artist painter to the world. I am also curious about the world appreciation to our art painting. Especially to the class and the hedonism society.” And before, to compare the distant between the fashion in Rodeo Drive and Indonesia.

“I came to Beverly Hills with positive thinking, with confident , honesty, seriousness, love to meet people, want to learn something , to develop my knowledge, with politeness and good manner”.
“Don’t underestimate yourself, if you know exactly what you are doing. And that you are not going to harm anybody else”, Ross says.
“And I believe , if we used to treat people nice, polite and proper, so will in return to us”.

” They respond me warmly,” says Ross. They are eager to run my Indonesia painting exhibition in their gallery and hotel in Beverly Hills. And in return I should exhibit their collections in Jakarta.

“I ever been in Beverly Hills before this painting visit. The first visit I made just after I had participated the fashion fair at the Pret a Porter, in New York”, says Ross.

“On the way home to Jakarta, I stay in Hollywood for few days just by myself, in a hotel next to The China Theater and the Walk of Fame. I intend to visit Disneyland, for sharing stories with my kids.

“As a fashion designer who had participated the Pret a Porter in Paris and New York, I think there’s nothing wrong to know and ‘to learn’ about the famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Just window shopping and looking around”.

Did you ever heard this saying? “Many people do the right things. But not many people do in the right way”.
Remember how Juliet Robert in “Pretty Woman” had pushed out unpleasantly from a boutique in Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills?.
“I didn’t get such tough treatment. The people in Beverly Hills, even in Rodeo Drive they treat me nicely and kindly,” says Ross.

In Jakarta Hilton she had already several times run painting exhibitions. And she passed them the booklets about her painting exhibition shows .
Painting had brought her to visit the Manager of The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California 90210.
“This class hotel had treat me, my friend and my son in a class hospitality. He (and the staff) is so warm and polite. He brought us to have a tour around the important (ball) rooms to show places, if one day I will run an exhibition in The Beverly Hilton”.
“As long I could afford the place in The Beverly Hilton, I am very welcome to run the Indonesia painting exhibition there”.
But, (you know it ), she cannot afford it at all.

When in Beverly Hills, she also visit a big painting gallery , which sell various kind of paintings, included the Chinese and Vietnamese painters. In the same time she became more optimistic about the future of the Indonesian painters. If their painting could reach here……

While Ross talking with the manager of this big gallery, she whispered, ” That lady is also from Indonesia. She bought some paintings from us.” When she mentioned the buyers name, Ross knew that the lady buyer is the daughter in law of an Indonesian conglomerate. The manager look much happier when knew from Ross that her buyer came from a famous and wealthy Indonesian Chinese family .

“My second trip (painting mission) to Beverly Hills accompanied by my son ( now he is a Creative Director in a prominent advertising agency, as well as an author). This time we stayed with a family friend a Californian citizen.
–
“In this trip to Beverly Hills I also met a fine art gallery owner. This gallery has selective creation. In that time the gallery has exotic paintings and bronze statues of a Mecixan artist which had collected by president. The artist had many press releases.”

“When I show them my exhibition catalogs, in instantly, they agree to have an exchange exhibition . Means, I exhibit their collection (beautiful painting and statue) in Jakarta on my expenses, and I may exhibit Indonesia paintings in Beverly Hills on their expenses.”

“When I back home to Jakarta, I find out there’s a letter from Beverly Hills. They wrote that they were pleased to meet me. and remind me about the plan. Few days later they call me.”
But again, she found out that she cannot afford this reciprocal business offer.
The problem is always the same ‘traditional’ problem. They have no problem with dollar currency, but we (always) really did.
She hates to disappointed people. But she can’t help at all. It is beyond of her capacity.

For sure, this is the first time , that someone from Indonesia get such value offer from Beverly Hills. The problem is simple. Since no one ever ‘dare’ before to penetrate the Beverly Hills. (How could you know the result, if you never try?)

“I passed this good and bad news to “my” Indonesia artist painters. To motivated and supported their art spirit.
That, even Beverly Hills gallery and Beverly Hilton hotel accepted their work,” Ross says.—-
